On Monday the planet celebrated World Environment Day. Various activities and instances sought to raise awareness about the care and respect of our environment. With the motto "Connecting people with nature", the UN invited people to foster their relationship with the natural world.
They have done something similar in Taipei, where an artistic intervention turned a city bus into a veritable mobile forest to bring some nature closer to the city and its inhabitants.
Thus, the vehicle seats were covered with grass, while hanging orchids and ferns adorned from the top of the machine. The bus was also decorated mainly with typical Taiwanese plants.
The project was led by florist Alfie Lin and designer Xiao Qing-Yang and was named "Forest Bus". Meanwhile, the vehicle circulated through the most important parts of the city center and was well received by passengers.
Although this traveling art project was designed for only a few days, at least it served to allow people to have a contact with nature amid the chaos and stress that monotonous life in the city means.
