Circular economy and environment

Circular economy and environment

The circular economy is presented as the last alternative to save the environment. And not as an option but as a duty of all of us, because the situation in which the planet finds itself is, as we all know, totally unsustainable and unfortunately disastrous.

But, within the seemingly irreparable situation in which the environment and the living beings that inhabit it are found, the circular economy is presented asa path to improvement, to salvation and to a paradigm and system change that can stop all the mistakes we have made and have made over the years.

The circular economy approach is simple, but above all it is really important and useful forto achieve a world and a more conscious, responsible and active society in the work of the circular economy, because they know that the sum of small gestures can save the world.

The circular economy is based on these concepts

Re-use; This translates intoextend the life of products, to give it a second life. It becomes a collaborative economy process with the sale of second hand, with the exchange, etc. But the most important thing is thatfight against planned obsolescence Yreduces environmental impact and provides a new value, once again turning waste into a resource.

Repair instead of throwing away; This is based on what our grandparents did, that every time something broke they took it to repair,so it could work longer and they took much more care of everything they had, so that it could last a lifetime. Now, unbridled consumerism has tried to deceive us, through excessively cheap prices, that it was cheaper to buy a new product. This, obviously, is a failed system that you want to encourage use and throw away and not use, repair and use again. That is why the circular economy works in that sense, to be able to change it.

Recycle; This is the best known process of the circular economy, although not the only one.Recycling aims to turn waste back into resources, placing each thing in the corresponding container, without polluting rivers, seas, oceans, forests, etc.

To refuseSay no to objects or services that go against the environmentit is also contributing to the circular economy.

Redesign; Instead of talking about design we talk aboutecodesignthat promotes the values of the circular economy in all phases of production, from start to finish, to contribute to caring for the environment, not only in the final product but also from the choice of materials.

Reduce. This translates into the motto “less is more”. We don't have to have 100 pens, 25 pants or 10 mobile phone cases. Only what we need, obviously everyone has whims, but alwaysstarting from conscious consumption.

RecoverBefore buying something new, we can think about whether we can recover an old clock, for example, an old sewing machine, etc.

Ultimately, the circular economy was born to save the environment, the planet and animals, including humans. That, taking into account that it has been responsible for causing all these problems to the environment, it should be responsible for putting an end to them and providing a definitive solution.
